Infrastructure Inspections Manager
Sheffield | Hybrid Working

Purpose of the Role: 
Reporting to the Head of Inspections & Maintenance, you will be responsible for overseeing the routine running of the Infrastructure Inspections side of the I&M business, including producing tenders for inspection work and for the quality of the inspections we execute along with associated reports.  

Key Tasks / Responsibilities: 
• Prepare tenders for inspection contracts, including both the written and commercial elements 
• Prepare inspection plans for structures/projects and brief site teams on the same, securing the 
input of the MD and Engineering Manager as appropriate 
• Prepare, review and approve Risk Assessments/Method Statements for inspections 
• Prepare programmes for complex inspections, including site reconnaissance 
• Train the inspection team in working to the latest standards, leading workshops and securing 
the input of the MD and Engineering Manager as appropriate 
• Ensure that the inspection team achieve and maintain the necessary qualifications and 
accreditations 
• Take a lead role in the delivery of challenging projects 
• Travel to sites for client meetings and for advice to inspectors as dictated by the needs of the 
business 
• Act as single point of contact/project manager for strategic clients on major projects 
• Contribute to the strategic development of the business 
• Contribute to the financial management of the business 
• Assist administrative staff in the scheduling of works/delivery of projects to ensure that the 
work is conducted as efficiently as possible 
• Ensure compliance with company and client policies, with particular regard to health & safety 
• Assist in weekend and night shift works as required by individual projects and business needs

Skills and Capabilities 
• BEng Civil Engineering (Desired) 
• Valid UK Driving License 
• A good level of IT literacy 
• Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with clients 
and site operatives 
• Adaptability and the ability to learn quickly – including self-directed learning when faced with 
new client requirements suppliers 
• Experience/understanding of construction 
• Experience of site-based operations either construction or infrastructure based 
• IRATA competence  
• CSCS card 
• BICS/STE4 certification
