Phenna Group is proud to announce that Founder and Executive Chairman, Paul Barry, has been appointed as an Ambassador for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
Rainbows supports babies, children and young people with serious or terminal conditions, as well as their families, across the East Midlands. In his new role, Paul will help raise awareness of the charity's vital work, engage supporters and encourage greater involvement from businesses and communities throughout the region.
The appointment reflects a longstanding connection between Paul, his family and Rainbows, built over many years through charitable support, fundraising and community engagement.
A Longstanding Commitment to Rainbows
Paul first became aware of Rainbows more than 20 years ago during his time at BG Technology in Loughborough, where the charity was regularly supported through fundraising initiatives.
After establishing Phenna Group in 2019, Rainbows became one of the charity beneficiaries supported through the Group's matched-funding programme. After visiting the hospice with his wife Amanda and seeing first-hand the impact of its work, Paul and his family became passionate supporters of the charity and its mission.
Commenting on his appointment, Paul said:
"I want to do something where I can add most value, take on a different role and give something back. Rainbows pulls on your heart strings, and you can't help but be inspired by these families and their personal stories. Rainbows contributes to making their lives a little bit easier and that is just so valuable."
Supporting Communities Beyond Business
Since founding Phenna Group in 2019, Paul has overseen the growth of the international testing, inspection, certification and compliance group into a global organisation operating across five continents.
Alongside this growth, giving back to communities has remained an important part of the Group's culture and values. Through its Social Responsibility strategy, Phenna Group seeks to create a positive and lasting impact by supporting charitable, educational and community initiatives across the regions in which it operates.
The Group encourages its businesses and colleagues to contribute to causes that matter locally, while creating opportunities to support communities through fundraising, volunteering and charitable partnerships. Paul's appointment as a Rainbows Ambassador reflects these values and reinforces the belief that businesses have an important role in supporting the communities around them.
Helping Build Communities of Support
As a Rainbows Ambassador, Paul will use his extensive experience in leadership, networking and relationship-building to help raise awareness of the charity's work and encourage others to get involved.
His role will include engaging with supporters, connecting businesses with the charity and helping Rainbows build communities of support that will enable it to continue delivering exceptional care to children, young people and families across the East Midlands.
Speaking about the role, Paul added:
"I bring to the Ambassador role extensive experience in leadership, networking, relationship-building and fundraising, together with a genuine belief that businesses and individuals have an important role to play in supporting their communities and creating opportunities for others.I believe every successful entrepreneur and company should embrace that if possible."
Looking Ahead
Phenna Group congratulates Paul on this appointment and looks forward to continuing its support of Rainbows and the families the charity serves.
As a business built on strong values and a commitment to social responsibility, Phenna Group remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact. Paul's appointment as a Rainbows Ambassador represents another important step in strengthening that commitment and helping raise awareness of the incredible work Rainbows delivers every day.
