Engineering Data Processor (Civil Engineering)

Location: Preston

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Starting Salary: £26,436.80

Due to continued growth, XAIS-PTS Limited is looking for a Engineering Data Processor (Civil Engineering) to join our team at our Preston site.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in supporting engineering projects by preparing, processing, and reporting survey data. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, spotting errors, and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare road network data for surveys in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process and analyse survey data in line with relevant standards
  • Produce and submit reports to clients in accordance with project specifications
  • Liaise with line managers to provide project updates
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to improve data processing methods
  • Ensure all work complies with ISO 9001 quality standards

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors in large datasets
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Adaptable and able to support wider team needs
  • Interest in civil engineering, highways, surveying, infrastructure, construction materials, mathematics, physics, geology, environmental science, or related technical disciplines.

Desirable

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Geology, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working within engineering, construction, surveying, infrastructure, highways, materials testing, laboratory testing, or a technical environment.
  • Experience interpreting technical data and producing reports.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
