Phenna Group

Headquartered in Nottingham, UK, Phenna Group’s aim is to invest in and partner with selected niche, independent Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) companies that serve a variety of sectors, ensuring customers’ peace of mind by delivering first class assurance services. This is the fifth acquisition made by Phenna Group in 2020 and the third business in our expanding Infrastructure vertical.

Incorporated in 2011, GEO Site & Testing Services (GSTL) is a ISO 17025 UKAS accredited geotechnical site and lab testing business based out of Llanelli, South Wales, which provides a range of services to clients throughout UK & Ireland, as well as participating in international projects. The business specialises in the geotechnical testing of soils, rocks, aggregates and siteworks/testing as well as drilling services. Furthermore, the company is able to provide a range of in situ testing techniques in support of a comprehensive ground investigation service.

Christine Edwards, Managing Director of GSTL commented, “I am very excited about closing a deal with Paul and the Phenna Group team. At GSTL, we pride ourselves on providing a quick turnaround of products and services to our customers, something that resonated well with Phenna’s ‘customer first’ philosophy. Finding a partner, who understood our vision and ambition for the business and would be committed to take it to the next level, was paramount in my decision. Phenna Group ticked those boxes and my team are looking forward to them helping us deliver our future growth plans”

Paul Barry, Group CEO of Phenna Group said: “I am delighted that Christine has chosen to partner with Phenna Group. GSTL fits closely with our strategy of creating a differentiated group of niche TICC businesses and complements our current Construction & Infrastructure portfolio companies; ACS Group of Companies and Professional Soils Laboratories. I’m looking forward to working with Christine during a short transition period, leading up to her retirement and with her ongoing team, to support the next stage in the development of the business.”
