Phil Marshall is Chief Executive Officer of Phenna Group, with over 30 years' experience in senior finance and operating leadership roles across both private equity–backed and listed businesses. His career includes 17 years at General Electric in CFO and CEO positions, a FTSE100 CFO role, and partner & head of operations at the global software private equity firm Hg Capital. He also gained sector expertise at Exova, where he co-led the successful delisting and sale of the business.
At Phenna Group, Phil is focused on driving growth while protecting and strengthening the entrepreneurial culture that defines the business. He plays a hands-on role in supporting new acquisitions, ensuring leadership teams feel part of the broader group while retaining their unique strengths. Phil believes successful integration is built on trust, respect, and collaboration, helping new companies feel supported and empowered from day one. By fostering a "one team" ethos and encouraging open communication, he ensures businesses across the group are aligned with Phenna's values while benefiting from shared resources and expertise. His leadership centres on people, relationships, and hard work, with a commitment to building sustainable success for employees, partners, and investors alike.
Outside of work, Phil enjoys travelling with his wife, spending time with his three adult sons, supporting charitable initiatives focused on disadvantaged children, and fishing whenever he can.

Corporate Development Director, Europe
Pavel Gagkuev is an accomplished strategy, M&A, and business development leader with more than 14 years of international experience across the Testing, Inspection, Certification & Compliance (TICC), Energy, Food, and Pharmaceutical sectors. He joined Phenna Group in April 2025 as Corporate Development Director – Europe, where he leads all European M&A activities from origination through to deal execution and integration. His work plays a key role in advancing Phenna Group's strategic growth, strengthening its European footprint, and expanding its portfolio of high-quality specialist businesses.
Before joining Phenna Group, Pavel served as Senior Global Manager for Strategy & M&A at UL Solutions, where he shaped and delivered inorganic growth strategies for the global Testing & Certification business. In this role, he was responsible for deal origination, due diligence, post-merger integration, restructuring, and synergy realisation.
Previously, Pavel was a Strategy & M&A Manager at Accenture Strategy, leading complex carve-outs, integrations, strategic expansions, and digital transformation engagements across Europe, North America, and the Far East. His earlier career includes M&A leadership at Groupe Roullier, business development roles at Gazprom Marketing & Trading, and strategic project experience at Air Liquide, Grant Thornton, and PwC, giving him a uniquely wide-ranging understanding of industry and operations.
Pavel holds a dual Master's degree in Energy Management and Finance from HEC Paris and Sciences Po Paris, as well as international academic experience at NYU Stern Business School. A native speaker of French and Russian, he is also fluent in English and proficient in German.
With deep expertise in cross-border acquisitions, integration strategy, and long-term value creation, Pavel brings a rigorous, hands-on approach to corporate development and is committed to helping Phenna Group accelerate its growth trajectory across Europe.
