Role Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced Engineer to join our team as Technical Manager. You will be hands-on with customers while developing and supporting a team of engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where your skills contribute directly to product safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day test operations ensuring efficient job scheduling

Provide hands-on technical expertise across test standards, equipment and methodologies

Review and approve test plans, methods and key technical decisions

Ensure all work meets ISO/IEC 17025 and internal procedure requirements

Act as a primary technical contact for customers, auditors and internal teams

Coach, mentor and support a team of engineers and technicians

Coordinate training, development plans and competency assessments

Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement practical efficiency improvements

Prepare accurate technical quotes and pricing estimates for customer enquiries

Support internal audits, NATA assessments and corrective actions

Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration and upgrade planning
Essential Requirements:
-
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Physics, Electronics or a related discipline
-
10+ years’ experience in product compliance, design or testing
-
Strong working knowledge of relevant test standards (EMC, electrical safety, environmental testing, etc.)

Proven ability to lead technical teams or supervise engineers and technicians

Experience coordinating test schedules, operational planning and workflow management

Ability to develop technical quotes, proposals and detailed test plans

Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and NATA accreditation processes

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
-
High level of organisation, analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience as an Authorised Signatory or similar technical authority
- Project management qualifications or experience
- Exposure to continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, etc)
