SHEQ Coordinator
Location: Bangor, Gwynedd
Salary: £34,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Holiday Entitlement: 21 days + bank holidays

The Role
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable SHEQ Coordinator to take ownership of our integrated Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems, including ISO 45001 and 14001 standards. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting operational excellence across the business.
This is an office-based role in Bangor, with occasional UK travel required for audits or incident support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ systems.
- Manage and investigate accidents, near misses and non-conformances.
- Maintain risk assessments, COSHH documents, legal and aspect registers.
- Coordinate internal audits, inspections, inductions and RAMS reviews.
- Monitor energy use, waste streams, and sustainability metrics.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and promote good practices.
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors to resolve safety and quality concerns.
- Drive continuous improvement and support a proactive safety culture.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely (minimum).
- Strong knowledge of SHEQ systems and regulations.
- Experience in accident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of risks in lab and construction/testing environments.
- Strong documentation, auditing, and compliance skills.
- Excellent communication and initiative-taking abilities.
Desirable Skills
- First Aid training.
- Knowledge of construction industry practices.
- Environmental and sustainability awareness.
- Familiarity with equality, diversity, and inclusion practices.
