We’re Hiring: Divisional Key Account Director – Infrastructure
Employment type: Full-time  
Location: There is no strict preference on base location, though the business’s “gravitational pull” is more on the Midlands/Eastern UK corridor. The head office is in Leicester, but candidates can be based anywhere. 
Work Arrangements: The role is remote, but with extensive travel required (likely 2-4 days per week). 
Base Salary: Up to £90,000 (depending on experience).

The Divisional Key Account Director will lead and evolve the Divisional key accounts across all the companies within the infrastructure division. They will be the main point of contact for all key account matters and are required to understand the customer’s needs and collaborate with other internal functions to ensure that customers succeed in achieving their business objectives. This position requires a seasoned, target-driven professional with a proven track record in driving growth by building and maintaining long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with Tier 1 suppliers and infrastructure customers.  

Key Responsibilities: 

Key Account Leadership 

  • Create and own key account plans tailored to each major customer with clear performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones.
  • Conduct quarterly strategic reviews with key clients to assess progress and identify new opportunities.  

Customer Engagement & Growth 

  • Sustainably grow revenue for identified key accounts, regularly meeting & exceeding targets.
  • Build and nurture senior-level relationships within nominated key accounts.
  • Understand key customers’ long-term business goals, associated pain points, and identify suitable upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Elevate our status within customer thinking from suppliers of individual services to specific projects, to a strategic partner of infrastructure support services.
  • Lead contract negotiations and pricing discussions to secure long-term, profitable partnerships. 

Internal Collaboration & Influence 

  • Represent the voice of the customer internally, ensuring their priorities are reflected in service delivery and innovation.
  • Work with technical teams to develop innovative solutions to complex customer problems, which are presented through high-quality, persuasive quotations.
  • Collaborate with technical, operational, and commercial teams to align resources and capabilities with customer needs.
  • Drive internal alignment through regular stakeholder reviews of performance against shared account objectives. 

Performance & Reporting 

  • Monitor and report on KPIs, revenue forecasts, and pipeline health.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of customer interactions, opportunities, and outcomes. 

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Proven success of delivering transformational growth, selling as a primary account manager to Tier 1 suppliers within the infrastructure or construction sectors.  
  • Holds strong existing relationships with strategic decision makers at Tier 1 infrastructure suppliers. 
    Keen understanding of the infrastructure industry, ideally with technical knowledge of geotechnical, materials testing, and/or ecology disciplines. 
  • Persuasive presentation, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility quickly and build strong interpersonal relationships.  
  • Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers and senior leaders. 
  • Proactive, results-driven mindset; continually seeks out new growth opportunities. 
  • A passion for excellence in customer service and customer management with a confident, assertive style. 
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple accounts simultaneously. 
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to mobilize and influence cross-functional teams.
