Engineering Geologist / Geo-environmental Engineer / Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Site-based across Scotland and Northern EnglandHours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)Salary: £29K - £33.5k (depending on experience)

The OpportunityWe’re seeking an early-career Engineering Geologist, Geo-environmental Engineer or Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team. This role is primarily site-based and ideal for someone who thrives outdoors, enjoys hands-on fieldwork, and is keen to grow their technical skills on high-impact energy and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and carry out intrusive ground investigations (e.g., rotary coring, dynamic sampling, trial pitting).
- Log soils and rocks to British Standards.
- Maintain accurate site records and health & safety documentation (RAMS, permits).
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Contribute to project reporting, including preliminary assessments and interpretative reports.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Geology, Geoscience, Engineering, or similar (MSc preferred).
- 1–2 years’ experience in geotechnical or geo-environmental consultancy or contracting.
- Working knowledge of BS standards and ground investigation methods.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable (not essential)
- CSCS Card
- First Aid, SSSTS, EURS CAT 1 & 2, IOSH or other safety certifications
- Awareness of environmental legislation and best practices
