Job advert – Administrator (Evolution Water Services)

Job title: Administrator

Location: Hurst, Wokingham (Unit 7 Beech Court, RG10 0RQ)

Salary: £27,000 – £28,000 per year (depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 (1‑hour lunch)

The role

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a confident, well‑organised and self‑motivated Administrator to join our friendly team in Hurst. You will support the smooth running of our office, working closely with the wider Administration Team, laboratory and contract support staff.

This is an office‑based role, ideal for someone with previous admin experience who enjoys variety, accuracy and working as part of a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

General administration

  • Handle incoming telephone calls, redirecting or taking accurate messages.
  • Assist with client enquiries and requests.
  • Open and distribute incoming post; support with preparing outgoing client post.
  • Maintain client web portals and update information as required.
  • Scan and file documents electronically.
  • Help maintain the company attendance rota.
  • Provide basic assistance with colleagues’ IT queries (e.g. simple issues, logging tickets).

Laboratory support

  • Maintain spreadsheets and databases with accurate data entry.
  • Print sampling labels and information sheets.
  • Liaise with engineers regarding samples and related queries.
  • Assist in reporting “out of spec” and positive legionella results.
  • Help with production, checking and distribution of results certificates.

Contract support

  • Produce contract renewal lists and liaise with Contract Managers.
  • Raise, send and follow up renewal quotations.
  • Set up new and renewed contracts; process cancellations.
  • Assist with the production of logbooks and risk assessments.
  • Maintain spreadsheets with up‑to‑date contract and client information.
  • Support any other reasonable administrative tasks as required.

About you

  • Previous office administration experience (ideally 1+ year).
  • Excellent telephone manner and confident communicating with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document handling.
  • Well organised, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Positive, team‑focused attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience in water treatment or facilities management is beneficial but not essential.
