This is a hybrid role, offering the chance to work closely with both finance and non-finance stakeholders in a dynamic, non-bureaucratic environment where your input will directly influence performance and growth.
Key responsibilities:
-
Lead the divisional month-end process and deliver monthly reporting packs.
-
Lead the year-end process, working closely with Group accounting and tax teams.
-
Own forecasting cycles and annual budgets for designated operating companies.
-
Provide timely financial insights and analysis to senior leaders and key stakeholders.
-
Build financial models, support scenario planning and investment appraisals for capital projects.
-
Play an active role in performance reviews, budget discussions, and cost control meetings.
-
Partner with colleagues across the business to highlight risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
-
Drive efficiency by reviewing costs and identifying savings across operations and finance.
-
Provide trusted financial support and value-add analysis to operational teams to improve performance.
-
Work closely with the Divisional Finance Director to deliver insight that supports decision-making.
-
Develop strong working relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders across the businesses.
-
Identify and implement opportunities to improve day-to-day and monthly accounting processes.
-
Assist in the financial onboarding of newly acquired businesses as part of Group M&A activity.
About you:
-
Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles.
-
Strong understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS and proven experience managing the month-end close process.
-
Advanced Excel skills and experience with a range of accounting systems, from SME packages to ERP platforms.
-
Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
-
A self-starter with strong initiative and ownership of workload.
-
Close attention to detail, with the ability to adapt and respond while maintaining a clear understanding of underlying activities.
-
Relevant industry experience in testing, inspection, certification or related sectors is desirable but not essential.
What’s on offer
-
Opportunity to join a high-growth, acquisitive group with a dynamic and innovative culture, free from typical large-corporate bureaucracy.
-
Chance to influence performance across a key division contributing significant sales and EBITDA to the Group.
-
Hybrid working and exposure to senior stakeholders, M&A activity and strategic decision-making.
