Associate – Geo-Environmental Services

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Department: Geo-Environmental Services

Reports to: Associate Director / Managing Director

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Please note: Hybrid working is project-led, not fixed. Some weeks may allow full remote work, while others may require 2–3 days (or more) on-site. Flexibility is provided, but project delivery will determine working arrangements.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Associate – Geo-Environmental Services to join our growing team in Glasgow. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build on their technical, project management, and client-facing skills while contributing to a diverse range of geo-environmental projects.

Working alongside senior colleagues, you’ll support and lead project delivery, mentor junior staff, and help drive both team success and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

·       Project Delivery & Technical Support

o   Provide support on contaminated land assessments, site investigations, remediation, and geotechnical analysis.

o   Carry out environmental and geotechnical assessments, risk reports, and interpretive reports.

o   Ensure project tasks are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timescales.

·       Technical Expertise & Analysis

o   Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation.

o   Undertake data analysis and interpretation of environmental and geotechnical findings.

o   Keep up to date with industry developments and share knowledge with the team.

·       Client Interaction

o   Support client relationships with clear communication on project progress.

o   Attend client meetings, site visits, and presentations to provide technical input.

o   Help identify opportunities to strengthen client partnerships.

·       Team Leadership & Development

o   Mentor junior staff, providing guidance, development opportunities, and performance feedback.

o   Promote collaboration and high performance across the team.

o   Engage in ongoing professional development through training and workshops.

·       Health, Safety & Compliance

o   Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental procedures.

o   Support preparation of risk assessments and method statements for site work.

·       Commercial & Administrative Support

o   Assist in preparing project budgets, monitoring resources, and keeping projects on track.

o   Support invoicing and project administration in line with agreements.

About You

·       A degree in Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline

·       Experience (or exposure) within a geo-environmental consultancy environment

·       Familiarity with contaminated land, site investigations, or remediation strategies

·       Knowledge of UK environmental and planning regulations

·       Strong report writing and data analysis skills
